IT’S ME…

MANDY: Creative entrepreneur, visualizer, presentation specialist/director, Hotello, marketeer (MSc.) and Savvy. With my company Present Savvy, presentation boutique studio (personal, unique and special), we provide both small and big organizations, schools, entrepreneurs and (keynote) speakers with effective and mostly special presentations. Perhaps we should call it complete experiences; The Next Level Presentation.

‘A woman on a mission’ – my mission is to break the existing paradigm on presentations.

Too often, presentations are used as a cheat note. The same structure; opening slide with title, date and logo, introduction, agenda items and bullets! Of course, that is not that surprising. After all, we have been taught to do it that way ever since we went to school. A presentation is meant for your audience. We do have to break with the set, standard patterns! Time and effort are precious! To create real impact, the presentation has to be a memorable experience. Interesting content and catching delivery in a surprising design (tooling) is essential to hold people’s attention and create memories.

MY OWN THINGS

MY OWN EXPERIENCE

Project: For the HotellotTop 2018, with its theme ‘To Infinity and Beyond’ I was asked to give a TopTalk. As a presentation specialist, I wanted to stand on stage with an amazing presentation and so, I created a presentation concept in cooperation with a video production partner.

Approach: After writing the speech, I highlighted story elements that could be stressed by using visual elements. Next, I created content in cooperation with a video production partner to support the highlighted story elements. The next step? Practice, practice, practice!

ORGANIZATIONS

For KPN, a presentation for introducing a different way of thinking had to be turned in a creative format to stimulate thinking out-of-the-box. This presentation will be used more often – it is not a one-off – which required taking a look at it from a different perspective.

Again, the content has been analyzed from front to back to determine which story elements needed visual support. In this way, you can make sure that the structure of the story doesn’t become leading, but you can use image to take your story to the next level at the right moments to create memory. Next, thought was put into how to visualize these elements and a proposal was done for the presentation concept. Based on the feedback, the concept was developed, for which moving images were created that matched the metaphors in the story perfectly, among which a bird that is flying from a golden cage.

'Organization escapes its cage'

For the opening of the two day event Food Inspiration Days 2018, a set speech had to be upgraded by creating a matching visualization on a next level. The opening speech was given by Hans Steenbergen with the trends and developments within the working field as its subject.

For a next level presentation, I always begin with the content. As soon as the content is received (or written by a content specialist), it is reviewed extensively and content that needs (emotional) impact is highlighted. That means that thought is put into the visual support the story needs, instead of making the story leading in the visuals. Next, we consider how to visualize the highlighted items. Based on that, a proposal is done for the presentation concept, which will be developed based on the feedback.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

For keynote speaker and author Sydney Brouwer, I was asked to upgrade his existing keynote presentation accordingly.

For a presentation upgrade, I worked with elements from the existing presentation. In this way, I created a unique presentation with moving elements that fit the current presentation by designing them in a way that is just a little bit different than usual.

Metaphor

For keynote speaker, author and trainer Niek van den Adel, a new presentation concept was developed. The new presentation had to be better than a standard PowerPoint presentation to make a lasting impression with the audience.

To create a unique presentation, a combination of a presentation in Prezi and moving image has been used.
